I still make a point of giving two hours of my time each week to our local writers' group - I know that some of the older members especially value the get together, as it's the only time they get out and meet people and do something creative.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01240260047781510027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4110926444880910537.post-7460329304014666812009-08-15T02:24:42.124-07:002009-08-15T02:24:42.124-07:00You're a sweetheart, Gemma, and your kids too....You're a sweetheart, Gemma, and your kids too. I joined a year or so ago and did it for awhile until family matters took over.. here you can't just go into a nursing home and do it, you must be trained and also have a police clearance done on yourself.. sad, sad, sad. I tried to do community visiting for awhile too, until the powers that be decided that you must do a course to be able to visit the elderly. I think the only way you can do it without 'training' is to become a special minister at church and can take communion.. what a sad world we live in...
anyhow, didn't mean to write a post here...
your idea is just sweet.. just like you Gemma xoxo and well done to your children for being special too!!Miss Robynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15144002124919728056noreply@blogger.com
