Simple as it may be
Peeling potatoes
for Christmas dinner
I stumbled upon....
In that moment
the overwhelming blessing
it is to have people
in my life
to peel potatoes for.
Made the peeling chore
a sacred action of love
and thankfulness.
truly, the simplest blessing are the ones we would miss desperately...
ReplyDeletethe sound of our loved ones voices, their place around the table of our love.
your humble peeling of potatoes....nurtures me completely, your intension of care.
so glad you are here...finding extraordinary in
ordinary moments.
yes.. this is a sacred moment, peeling potatoes, washing up cups... be still xo
ReplyDeleteThis post reminds me of "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence. In it, he says that kneeling at the altar or washing dishes in the kitchen is all the same to him--all holy.
ReplyDeleteI love peeling potatoes and do think about people. I think of my brother who loves potatoes and actually eats potatoes just about every day and I think of just the feeling of being able to peel potatoes for the ones I love. Very nice post Gemma. I want to thank you for all the goodies you sent me. I plan on looking/reading everything you sent very carefully tonight when I jump in my warm bed with my heater blanket. Tee hee. I loved everything very much. Have a great week!!
