Sunday morning postcards

A couple of weeks ago Inspiration Avenue had an art auction to benefit Angel Faces.
There were some lovely pieces in the auction.

Luckily I placed  the highest bid on a  painting called Pink 2 by Lisa Wright.
On the back she painted some awesome eyes...
Aren't they cool?
The eyes have it!

Also I won this lovely photograph by Tammy:
Absolutely awesome!
All of this art will proudly hang in gemmashouse.

Speaking of auctions the shrine auction to benefit the street children of Oaxaca
is coming June 1st. More about the shrine auction and for more Postcards from paradise visit

  1. Lucky you! That cantina door is fantastic. The layers of paint and the rusted metal....just think what stories they could tell.

  2. Love both pieces Gemma. Like Janet, I really love the door. Beautiful.

  3. I love the cantina door, too, and I'm checking out the links you sent. Everyone visiting Rebecca introduces me to new facets of the art community. I'm a pretty new artist and I need inspiration.

  4. I could squeeze you to death right now.
I did kill a kitty when I was 3 by loving it too much...AAARRGG!!!
I wouldn't really kill you, but I might squeeze the dickens out of you if I had the chance.

  5. oh gemma....lovely all!
angel faces is so worthy of this outpouring of support. can't wait to join in next year.

  6. What wonderful art pieces they both are! I can only imagine all the incredible artwork that graces Gemmahouse...

  7. Such a worthy cause and a beautiful painting, so full of soul and light. How wonderful that you have shown such support for these lovely girls and their cause. Thank you for introducing us to it!

  8. So glad you liked the painting! Thrilled you took part in our auction. Wonderful lady :)

  9. Thanks Gemma! I love Lisa's painting too. I hope you will enjoy your photograph of the cantina door.

  10. Beautiful pieces!
