remembering

When my cousin Terry died a number of years ago, my sister Sandra and I drove to New Mexico to be with her family. We took Sandra's car, put on the GPS, and rolled down the road.

Honestly GPS drives me crazy. The voice is annoying  and often  wrong.  Being old school, I
prefer a map.
Anyway, we were somewhere near Albequerque when the GPS told us to turn down a road.
My sister who swears by GPS made the turn.  It took us to a field. (!)
We looked and knew it couldn't be right, so we turned around again.
However the GPS insisted we go to the field. We were tired so we drove to the field and stopped to rest. That is when we noticed the field was full of butterflies. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We stayed a while but eventually left to go see Terry's family.

While visiting with my aunt (Terry's mom) we told her about the butterfly incident. She broke down in tears. She and Terry had a butterfly connection. They collected and traded butterfly notes, cards, and pictures with each other all through the years. She felt certain our sojourn to the butterfly field was a message from Terry that all is well.
