Magical Journal

Maggie's Orange and Gray magical journey journal
is complete and ready to go in the mail.
The colors reminded me of gray clouds and a shining orange sun.
& quote by HW Longfellow.

Turn the cloud cover to see the sun.

Worked, played, and rearranged these colors until this page emerged.

As well as colorful, Maggie's journal has a theme: "Take the scenic route"
For this page I showed a butterfly resting from a long trip....and
traditional quote "You can't put your feet on the ground until you touch the sky."

butterfly detail sewn together.

This is the last journal in this series. It has been a wonderful experience.
The artists have bonded and often used intuition in their art.
It made this very personal and touching.
Looking forward to
starting a new group in the new year.

  1. Wow Gemma! So much detail with the sewing and the puzzling...I like that your pages echo mine (at least to me) the quote by Longfellow is probably the inspiration for the song lyrics I chose (doncha think so too?)
Anyway, I love all that we share(d) and I am always looking for the kismet. And then, after that, the differences between us all. It's been a beautiful trip. ♥ ♥ ♥

  2. Ahhhh, Gemma! I am in love with these pages! They look so intricate and as if there is even more wonder to discover when I'm holding them in my hands!!! (And, happily, that will be soon!) Thank you for these heartwarming pages, The quotes are perfect, and the way you used the colors is awesome! So much beauty, I'm loving the collaged page with the head and the urn. ♥♥♥ Thank you thank you!!!

I'm so happy you've joined our magical journey, what fun we've had!!! ♥

(I do remember that Priti Lisa's take on my colors was something about clouds, or rain, and sunshine. :-)

  3. Gorgeous sun filled pages Gemma! I love all the layers and detail and especially like the way the cloud opens to reveal the sun which cleverly enhances the great quote. The orange dream baby tag is so cute and serene. And I like the idea of the butterfly taking a rest on that grand chair. Fab imaginative fun! I so loved Maggie's colours, working with them made me happy. And similarly looking at your joyful interpretation of the theme has also brought joy my way, thank you :-) Maggie will adore these pages.
