Yesterday I sketched these church windows for a class.
I decided to wait until today to paint them so I could
use this weeks SOC color.
Painted with dark blue, red, & light blue watercolor.
The colors did not scan true.
To me they look purple and orange
however this is my entry for this week.

Very Gaudi-esque - excellent Gemma, I really like it. An original idea. Wish I had one like this ;)
ReplyDeleteI like your church windows Gemma. I can imagine how the light shines through. Very nice Gemma.

ReplyDeleteAh, but they are truly lovely, no matter what color they scanned. When red is in the orange range, rather than pink range, I can see how it might have scanned that way. Mine looked more pink than red when I scanned it. Regardless, this is incredible.
ReplyDeleteGuess I should have said "spectrum" rather than "range." It's getting late here (grin).
ReplyDeleteI love your artwork! You have done a wonderful job drawing the window and the colors look fine to me!!
ReplyDeleteLovely Gemma - the windows look almost luminous!

ReplyDeletestained glass church windows are always so gorgeous and you did a wonderful watercolor sketch of them!
ReplyDeleteI see purple and orange also. Funny what computers do. Still, great art! xo
ReplyDeleteI love church windows, and yours is lovely. It's not always the colors will cooperate when scanning/ photographing, but it doesn't matter. How fun it is to see all the different ideas each week.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! A really creative use of this week's colors! (It's hard to believe that there's only one week left. I'll miss the inspiration.)
ReplyDeletePurple and orange here, too but no matter what the colors, it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Gaudi amazing? I watched all of Junelle Jacobson's videos but have not attempted any painting yet. I LOVE your church window!!! It's truly beautiful and looks great in purple-ish and orange-ish. I'll bet it is great in red and blue too!
ReplyDeleteLovely, I to0k photos of the stained glass windows in the church his week. Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt's annoying when the colours do not scan, but it is a happy annoying for me because I really like these colours and your drawing of the windows is lovely.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I just love this beautiful work of art and how you used this week's colors! (Sometimes colors don't scan right, or my photos appear darker than they are in real life. Yes, it's frustrating!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these!! I love Gaudi's work and I think you have done such a good job with these windows! I was looking at the actual thing in May! Love love love it!
