The building was scheduled to be torn down. Since that time she has restored the old architecture designed by Mary Colter to it's former glory. Originally it was the railroad station and a hotel stop over for those traveling across country by train. Now it is the La Posada Hotel. Tina's stunning art is displayed all over inside.
My Dad was a railroad man. He
worked for the railroad in this building.
I remember visiting him here when I was a little girl.
The long walkway and courtyard face the railroad tracks.
My dad worked in an office somewhere near the end.
As children my brother, sisters and I would climb on the old baggage carts and push each other around.
What fun we had.
On our recent trip we did the same thing.
Still playing after all these years.

Geesh, I commented and it went away. Anyhow, I said something like that cart would make a great painting, and how much fun you must have had. And more, but.....scared it will disappear again. :)
