After my Dad had open heart surgery in the 1990's
The nurses gave him a heart pillow to hold during recovery.
My Mother wrote
"Ruthie loves Leonard"
on the heart with a marker.
~
Both of my parents died since then and their belongings
were divided up or sold.
I hadn't seen the heart pillow in a long time.
Imagine my surprise when
it was one of my Christmas gifts this year.
Bright red fabric heart
Sacred in ordinary
Ruthie loves Leonard
