12 days of Mary

#6

Like a prayer
Mary
sits among a collection
of earthen vessels,
potted plants,
and
backyard ceramics.
Though she's in ruins
She permeates the garden
with her grace.

  1. Even in ruins, there is great beauty for those who have eyes to see. Thank you for the reminder.

  2. some of my favorite marys are much like the velveteen rabbit-made all the more beautiful by the love they have received!
thanks for taking me into the sanctuary of your garden, your warm cathedral of a heart!

  3. Crumbling statues in gardens and cemeteries somehow seem even more powerful symbols than they were when new and whole. I like Rebecca's Velveteen Rabbit analogy.
