Home
The day was long.
Home now,
breathing a sigh of relief,
sipping a cup of tea.

There are many words I want to tell you about my home.
Words stacked up in my mind like the bricks of this house.
Words like hollyhock and pillow,
afternoon sun,
hues of cream and pink,
purple rose buds,
Nocturne on the piano,
Blackbird on the guitar,
comfort and love,
meat loafing in the oven.
One day I hope I can tell you.

For right now they are just words I'll use
to prime the pump.
Hoping they will flow out to you soon.

  1. Those are some beautiful words you've been stacking up there, Gemma. They paint a pretty picture of your cozy home. Word by word, brick by brick~xo

  2. Yes your words do tell us about your home that you love so much. I always go by that saying that home is where the heart is. I totally believe and live that. Have a great weekend Gemma. Thanks and yes my cold will get better soon. Take care.

  4. Now this sounds like quite a comfortable nest, Gemma! I can almost smell the meat loafing! (Great coinage, by the way!)
