Mostly Joy

OH JOY
The Artichokes are coming up.
The way I like them is:
Cook until almost tender,
let them cool,
cut in half,
clean them,
put on the grill,
grill until they get a little char on them.
Yummy smoky flavor.
Serve with garlic butter.

    do you begin your artichokes from seed or have a preferred place to acquire plants? this is the year to add artichokes to our garden. thanks for your experienced advice!

  2. Oh, how I love artichokes !!!! I have never had them grilled...Yum ! I usually just steam them and eatthe bottoms of the leaves, dipping them into a homemade garlicky vinagrette my French father taught me to make. And then the hearts ! Oh, my...I wish I had a garden full but the grocery store ones will have to do !

  3. I do believe that artichokes are my all-time favorite vegetable! I planted them this year for the first time...and love the tropical look of the plants as well as the anticipated bounty. Thanks for the joyous cooking tips!

  4. Yum! At the grocery store the other day, I saw bundles of artichokes that looked like bouquets of green flowers. I wished that I had brought my camera with me.
