Postcards from Paradise

Early in the morning is the only sensible time to take a walk here in this
vast and hot Southwestern desert.
Actually it is better to tiptoe quietly so you can see and not disturb wildlife.

In spite of my whispering feet this little rabbit camouflaged itself among the cacti.
Can you find the hidden rabbit?
It is right in front with shining eyes.
Also lately I have found many heart shapes in the cacti.
Do you see any?
~
A little later another bunny hopped by. I stopped to get it's picture .
That's when it struck a pose for me.
Backwards facing rabbit
These are my postcards from Paradise this week.

Paradise here is actually a flaming inferno...so hot and so dry.
Doing a rain dance and praying for the monsoons to start.

Please join us with postcards from paradise wherever you are.

  2. I love the rabbit too. I see little bunnies like that around these parts as well. It is always a gift. Lovely postcards Gemma and nice narrative.

  3. These bunny pics are just so endearing, yes the camouflage would have worked well but for his little gleaming eye!

Happy early spotting of bunny hearts,

  5. You're seeing rabbits and I'm imagining rattle snakes everywhere. I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to snakes with fangs and poison.

  6. Lovely photos. I love bunnies, so much so that I joined their club.

    All the best, Boonie

  7. I chuckled at your 'backwards facing rabbit'...the terminology made me think of the moose practising yoga on the animated movie, Brother Bear. The bunnies are cute. I too was wondering about rattlesnakes. Do the wildlife have easy access to water with the dryness and heat there?

  8. I see the wascally wabbit! I see a heart shape too. It's right in front of the rooster with it's wing out, chasing the ghostly duck through the heart. Yep! xoxo

  9. It was so dry here last summer that everything died. Okay, not everything, but a lot of things. We're getting more rain this year... so far.

We've seen little rabbits on our morning walks for weeks now. They are so funny how they hide in plain sight. I keep saying that I should take my camera one morning.
