Priti Lisa asked us to consider Botticelli's lovely painting "Primavera" for our Inspiration Avenue challenge this week. It is an allegorical painting with characters that depict various qualities of spring. Lisa suggested we create an allegory using this theme that connects to our soul.
I did a little drawing/water color painting on sheet music of my favorite Irish song. A red headed maiden, inspired by a different version of Venus. She represents and evokes sweet memories of the green grass of Ireland and the music that touches me deep in my heart.

Very smart of you to combine music and springtime! So many beautiful things were written and inspired by that season. Her red hair and the green border really do make me think of Ireland, this is a lovely work.

She is young, fresh, pretty and carefree...the essence of spring! I think it would be amazing to see Ireland in the springtime. The green must be magnificent! I love that you painted her on Irish sheet music too :)

Sorry I nearly missed visiting. I had computer problems after a tornado hit much too close to home last week. I am SO glad I got here, though, because I love your Allegory of Spring.
