Q is for quail ~haiku my heart

at first light
into the open
they venture
families
working together
foraging
to keep warm
in low tempatures
feathers fluff
innate way
urban desert quail
have breakfast
~
linked to
haiku my heart

  1. Great pictures and Haiku Gemma. We have a lot of quails. Rather, my husband raises and sells them. I don't know anything about them except that their birds. tee hee. Have a great weekend.

  2. The first time I ever saw this kind of quail was when I went to Carson City to visit Aleta. They are such elegant little creatures, but you have to be quick to see them because they hide in the bushes quickly. There were quail where I lived in NC, but not these little crowned beauties, but rather the shooting/eating kind (not me!) Thanks for the pleasant memory. xoxoxo
