Chenille heart

Haiku my heart

stacks of red fabric
eight sewn together in strips
cut, frayed, Chenille
~

I love chenille
It is a strong beautiful fabric
Survivor of many cuts and stitches,
 yet as soft and resilient
as we are.

  1. The haiku has taught me something about this fabric. Now, I can identify it and know some of it's properties. Thanks for the lesson. You wove these words together well. Nice heart!

    Peace

  5. aw...I want to pick it up and rub it against my cheek, I so love the softness and warm memories of a chenille bedspread at my grandma's.

  8. "Now what?" the Heart cries.
"Surely I have been made for bigger things, I know I have, I am quite sure."
There is a pause before Gemma responds.
"Dear Heart, you are bigger than you know,
    just stay true."

    to be continued...

    Everything you do Gemma
is such an act of love.

    1. I made the chenille by sewing those 8 layers of heart shaped fabric together, cutting and fraying it

  12. I love the frayed edges of the fabric...sort of like a heart that's been through a lot.
