Joe Spado was a friend.
You might say he was the kind of man who
'never met a stranger'.
~
We became friends here @
~
One day after posting this
water color painting,
Joe contacted me wanting a copy of it.
~
I photo transferred a copy onto canvas board,
polished, then added copper, gold and rose
metallic colors....and sent it to him.

To honor Joe
She is my offering
here today.
~
In turn Joe sent me a wonderful gourd rattle
he made.
A treasure.
REST IN PEACE
dear friend

What an amazing thing the internet and blogging is - how it creates communities and families across the globe!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful Gemma. I agree with Hettienne. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful madonna for you and for Joe and I know you must cherish your rattle. The last post I got from him was when I posted this year's Day of the Dead altar photos. I remember what elaborate ones he and his wife created. Though I didn't know him personally, how I wish I had. He lived his life so very fully.
ReplyDeleteI love that Joe has something from so many of us since it seems he left us more than we could've possibly given him!
ReplyDeletePeace.
