The idea for the sculpture came from a

The paper clay was rolled out as thin as possible.
Two shapes: pillow and sleeper were cut,

  2. Hi Gemma your paper clay sculpture is awesome. Great job. My runners are part of the six weeks. Thought it would be different to stick with one theme this year.

  5. I've never worked with paper clay, but I like that you chose it as your medium this week. Stunning and impressive. I always like it when you know what you're going to do with the piece you make for a challenge.

  7. What an interesting interpretation of the Matisse design and a clever way to create it. I never heard of paper clay. I'll have to do some research on that.

Thanks for stopping by to view my Summer of color post.

  9. such a wonderful piece and has such a sweet feeling of peace for me. Plus the map at the bottom of your blog is wonderful. I have wanted to draw a map of my property like that and have a hard figuring the layout. I love how you did yours and that you share where you are with us, sometimes i wonder where bloggers are living and can not figure it out.

  11. A lovely idea to use a famous art work as inspiration and Matisse was such a master of colour. Your use of paper clay is very unusual too, I have been using lots of paper clay recently, it is great to add 3D elements to work.
