Artist Way
Recovering a sense of strength
week 8

Art Date
Every year the Arizona Ballet performs "Ballet Under the Stars". These FREE events are usually held at the beginning of the season and preview some of the dances that are in the up coming schedule.

Sunday I went to a performance held at a lovely park near me. A proffesional stage was set up in an open grassy area. I took a blanket,a thermos of tea, some fruit, cheese and nuts. I also took my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves to dance. She wore a pretty little dress and ballerina slippers. She danced and twirled on the grass to her hearts content.

It was lovely to watch Arizona Ballet perform excerpts from Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and Stravinsky violin concerto choreographed by George Ballenchine.
AWESOME! Several times my grand daughter was so delighted she gave me a big kiss on my cheek.

The weather has cooled off to pleasant. Watching the ballet under a pink setting sun, while the stars came out,was utterly gorgeous.

I am regaining strength and resolve by going on my art dates, filling the well with good things, writing every morning, watching and enjoying synchronicities in my life.
Wishing you all a sense of strength.

Truth/Connection
Nothing can be truer than the love connection I have with my Uncle Jimmy.

Jimmy is my Mom's older brother.
He is the oldest living relative from that line of Irish immigrants.
His smile is crooked from all those years of telling jokes. His laughing eyes speak more than his baritone whiskey voice.Such a fun mischievious rascal.

Old tools,a welding torch,a couple of old boats, a camp trailer and a riding lawn mower are among some of the litter in his yard. The township where he lives has told him to clean up his property it's an eyesore. Slowly he is working on it.

Last week at his wife's 90th birthday party...Yes they are both up and around...
I ask him how he was feeling. He answered "Well, I have to crawl into bed at night with a 90 year old woman."

He has had a long and beautiful life. Full of service and love. He has made so many people laugh with his practical jokes and cry with his tenderness.
I love him so.
This is my truth.
This is my connection.

Syn-crow-nicity TAW

Week 3
Regaining a sense of power

Synchronicity came to the fore front while doing week 2 of
The Artist Way. It seems as though every time I turned around something occured that I had recently thought about, dreamed about or planned in some way.

How can we not know that we have, or are connected to some kind of support system
(God) when these things occur?
-I used to work in a school library. I loved the job!
The position was eliminated a few years ago.
Lately I've been thinking about the fun I used to have in the library.
This past week the very job I used to love opened up again.
Duties include: all kinds of art, help students put on little plays in the library,
read stories and other fun stuff.
Strange?
-I find things just as I think about them.
-Think of someone... they call. That sort of thing.

To regain a sense of power for week 3 TAW
Working on:
-getting closer to myself....being my own BFF
-Meditating
-Full moon earth healing tonight
-some art projects
-doing daily morning pages
-going on an art date tomorrow chosen from my list of 20 things I love.....
but haven't done in a while.

What are you doing?
Hope you are having fun
and enjoying your weekend.
xx
